56-Year-Old Pedestrian Hit and Killed Crossing US 19

Clearwater, FL (3/18/2020) – A man from Tarpon Springs died Tuesday night when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the highway. The accident occurred around 8:45 p.m. on US 19 near Winding Creek Boulevard.

The Florida Highway Patrol states that William J. Lisdell, 56, was traveling east on US 19 when he stepped into the path of a GMC Envoy driven by 30-year-old Theresa Haynega. Lisdell was rushed to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Hayenga and her passenger stopped immediately to help the victim and call 911. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash, and there are currently no charges pending against the driver.
