Crash on I-75 in Sarasota Leaves 3 Dead, 2 Injured

Sarasota, FL (3/9/2020) – An accident on I-75 involving a cement truck and six other vehicles left three people dead and two others injured on Monday morning. The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on I-75 near the Fruitville exit.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man was pulled over on the side of the interstate due to mechanical issues with his Dodge Durango. A friend of the man came to help and was parked behind him. While they were working on the vehicle, a cement truck crashed into the back of both vehicles, overturning and killing its driver, the man pulled over on the side of the road, and another driver. Two other unidentified people were also injured in the crash. 

Troopers are still investigating the cause of the accident. Anyone who witnessed the crash should contact the Florida Highway Patrol by dialing *FHP.
