Hit-and-Run Crash in St. Petersburg Leaves One Dead, One Injured

St. Petersburg, FL (1/18/2020) – Police are searching for the suspect of a hit-and-run crash that left one woman dead and one man injured. The crash happened Saturday around 10:14 a.m. at 9th Avenue South and 40th Street South.

The suspect, driving a stolen Mercedes, ran into a Chevy Malibu, seriously injuring both the driver and the passenger. He then abandoned the Mercedes and stole another car to get away.

The passenger in the Malibu, 27-year-old Saniya Dixon, died at the hospital from her injuries. The driver of the Malibu is in stable condition.

Police are still searching for the suspect. Please call St. Petersburg Police at 727-893-7780 if you have any information on the accident.
