Motorcyclist Killed on U.S. 19 S

Hernando County, FL (11/06/2019) – A motorcyclist died after a crash on Wednesday. The collision happened at the intersection of U.S. 19 N and Windward Boulevard around 10 am. 

Giovanni I. Ramos drove his motorcycle southbound on U.S. 19. A 2010 Chevy Malibu, driven by Margaret D. Fair, 83, made a U-turn into Mr. Ramos’ path. 

Paramedics transported Mr. Ramos to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. He wore a helmet at the time of the crash. 

Mr. Ramos laid the motorcycle down to try and avoid the crash. Troopers have reported that charges are pending. 

Our hearts go out to all of those impacted by this tragedy. Motorcycle accidents like this one occur far too often in Florida. It’s essential that fatal motorcycle accidents be thoroughly investigated so that the cause of the collision can be understood, and the responsible party can be identified and, if warranted, held accountable.
