Treasure Island, FL (2/16/2020) – One New Port Richey resident is dead after crashing their motorized scooter on Gulf Boulevard late Saturday night. The crash occurred at 10133 Gulf Boulevard in the northbound lane around 11:15 p.m.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office says that Nolan Ryan Webb, 27, was driving a rented 2015 Yamaha scooter north when he failed to navigate a curve in the road. He veered off of the street and struck a bush, a utility pipe, and a cement wall before coming to a stop.

Pedestrians discovered Webb nearly two hours after the crash and immediately called 911. When Treasure Island Police and Fire Rescue arrived, they pronounced Webb dead at the scene.

According to investigators, Webb was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. It is currently unknown if alcohol or excessive speed are factors in the crash.
