Pedestrian Killed Crossing State Road 574 in Dover

DOVER, FL (10.02.2019) – A 41-year-old pedestrian was hit and killed early in the morning of Wednesday October 2nd on State Road 574 in Dover.
Florida Highway Patrol said that he was walking northbound and stepped into the path of an oncoming car around 2:50 am.
Erika Lopez Boxtha was driving southbound when the pedestrian stepped in front of her car and caused the collision. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released as police are trying to inform the next of kin.
Alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the police report. No charges are expected for the driver.
