Tampa Bay, FL (5/12/2020) – Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left one pedestrian dead early Tuesday morning. The crash happened around 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of West Hillsborough Avenue and North Dale Mabry Highway.

According to officers, the male pedestrian, who has not been identified, was hit while crossing the street. Based on evidence at the scene of the crash, investigators believe that a 1999-2007 Ford E-series van hit the man with the front driver’s side of the vehicle resulting in a destroyed headlight assembly. They suspect that the driver fled the scene heading east on Hillsborough Avenue after the crash.

The hit-and-run is still under investigation and the suspect is still at large. If you have any information about the crash, please call Tampa Police at 813-231-6130.
