Truck Crashes Into Car in Auburndale, 1 Killed and Several Injured

Auburndale, FL (1/13/2020) – A crash in Auburndale late Sunday night left one person dead and several others injured. The accident occurred at 9:36 p.m. at the intersection of US 92 and Berkley Road.

Investigators say that a pickup truck driven by Salvador Manuel Juarez, 43, slammed into the back of a car that was stopped at a red light. The crash injured four people in the car, two of whom were children. One of the adults in the back seat, Linda Jean Baptiste, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency services transported four victims to Lakeland Regional Hospital and one victim to Tampa General Hospital.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
