Community Involvement
As personal injury lawyers, our mission is to help create safer communities. Our pursuit of this mission goes beyond helping people navigate the legal system after they’ve experienced a terrible accident.
Through our No DUI Free Sober Rides and Safe Driving Scholarship initiatives, and through sponsoring worthy local organizations, we strive to make the communities where we live and work safer for everyone.
Community Initiatives
Admit it to Quit It: End Distracted Driving Scholarship Contest. It’s beyond debate that distracted driving is dangerous. It’s up to each individual to make the commitment to put an end to their own distracted driving habits. But before you can put a stop to any behavior, you must first admit the existence of the problem, which is why for our 2021 undergrad scholarship contest we asked students to do just that. Read more…
A&U Law School Scholarship to Promote Diversity. Abrahamson & Uiterwyk wants to encourage more people who identify as minorities to pursue a legal education. Therefore, we were proud to offer a $1,500 scholarship to a deserving law student. Read more…
Local Organizations We Support
Feeding Tampa Bay. During the COVID-19 pandemic over 10 million Americans lost their jobs, and we were proud to be able to support Feeding Tampa Bay, part of the national Feeding America network, which focuses on providing food to the hundreds of thousands of food insecure families in the 10-county area of West Central Florida. In April 2020 we became a “Soul Food” level partner by making a $10,000 donation to the organization. In addition, we started a GoFundMe campaign for the cause. We were able to match additional donations up to $20,000.
Wheelchairs 4 Kids. Many children with degenerative diseases lose more and more of their motor skills requiring new wheelchairs that will allow them as much freedom and comfort as possible. They also require other adaptive devices that will allow them the freedom to get out in the world or even just around their homes. Wheelchairs 4 Kids will help them by providing not only well fitted, well equipped wheelchairs, but also assist with ramps, wheelchair lifts, and home modifications. Learn more…

East Lake Community Library. The East Lake Community Library aspires to be the center of information and discovery in the community. Through innovative programming, relevant collections and responsive services, its goals are to support lifelong learning and the joy of reading, and to provide cultural and recreational opportunities for residents of all ages. Keep Lee County Beautiful. The KLCB Marine Cleanup is an annual event during which volunteers go out in boats, kayaks, canoes, jet skis and anything else that floats, to remove monofilament fishing line and other harmful debris from the mangrove areas of Lee County. Learn more…
