1 Dead, 1 Injured After Pedestrians Struck in Clearwater Crash

Clearwater, FL (12/18/19) – Early Wednesday morning, a vehicle struck a father and son crossing a busy Clearwater street.
80-year-old Ernest LeBlanc, the father, died from his injuries. His 48-year-old son, Barry LeBlanc, is in critical condition at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
The accident happened on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard near Fernwood Avenue. The LeBlancs live in a nearby mobile home park.
A vehicle heading east on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard struck Ernest and Barry as they crossed the street from north to southwest of Fernwood Avenue. They were not in a crosswalk.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
