Pedestrian Accident in New Port Richey Leaves One Man Dead and Two Children Seriously Injured

New Port Richey, FL (5/7/2020) – One adult and two children were hit Thursday night after they walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle in New Port Richey. The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Seven Springs Boulevard and Perrine Ranch Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an unidentified 35-year-old man walked into the intersection with four children when he was struck by a vehicle that had a green light. Troopers say that the driver tried to avoid the pedestrians, but ended up hitting the male, a 10-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old girl. All three were taken to the hospital, but the male later died from his injuries. The condition of the two female victims is unknown at this time.

The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. Two of the other children walking with the man, a 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl, weren’t hit during the accident.
