Bicyclist Seriously Injured in St. Petersburg Hit-and-Run, Police Looking for Suspect

St. Petersburg (5/21/2020) – The St. Petersburg Police Department is looking for a car involved in a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist seriously injured Thursday morning. The crash occurred around 9:35 a.m. at the intersection of 30th Avenue South and Martin Luther King Street South.

According to police, the bicyclist, whose identity has not been released, was trying to cross 30th Avenue when they were hit by a dark gray or black Nissan Altima traveling north. The driver of the Nissan then fled the scene of the crash.

Emergency responders rushed the bicyclist to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg to be treated for serious injuries. St. Petersburg police believe that the suspect’s car has significant damage on the left-hand side of the front bumper.
