Pedestrian Dies Crossing Bayshore Road

Fort Myers, FL (10/05/2019) – A 53-year-old Florida man was killed while crossing State Road 78, Bayshore Road.

The collision happened at the intersection of Bayshore Road and US 41. Around 11 pm,  Alexa Fallon Baker, 21, drove her vehicle westbound along Bayshore. The man was crossing the road and the front of the car collided with him. He died at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.

Our hearts go out to all of those impacted by this tragedy. Pedestrian fatalities like this one occur far too often in Florida. It’s essential that fatal pedestrian accidents be thoroughly investigated so that the cause of the collision can be understood, and the responsible party can be identified and, if warranted, held accountable.
