Personal Injury & Accident Lawyers Serving Zephyrhills Florida

Zephyrhills, Florida, the “home of pure water,” is also home to many of our clients and friends. Unsurprisingly, it is also home to the nationally famous Zephyrhills bottled water company. We love Zephyrhills most, however, because of its friendly and hardworking people.

Zephyrhills Injury Lawyer

We hate to see bad things happen to good people. Unfortunately, however, they happen anyway, and with distressing frequency. When a serious accident happens, you suffer more than just pain and shock. Your medical bills will accumulate from day to day, even if you are too weak to rise from your hospital bed. Meanwhile, your absence from work may be eating into your sick leave days, and you may not even be guaranteed a job anymore by the time you regain your health.

Obviously, compensation is in order from the person whose carelessness injured you. Securing compensation can be a frustrating experience, however, when evasive or dismissive insurance companies play around with you because they are betting that in your weakened state, you are not in a position to fight them effectively.

Could You Use Some Legal Firepower on Your Side?

Abrahamson & Uiterwyk doesn’t play games with the parties responsible for compensating our injured clients. We specialize in prompt and aggressive representation of our injured clients, designed to seek full compensation for your losses – both physical and psychological – as quickly as possible. Through literally 100 years of combined practice experience and 20,000 previous personal injury clients, we have successfully countered just about every deceptive or manipulative tactic that a personal injury defendant or insurance company can throw at us. Unlike most law firms, we focus on a single field of law: Personal injury law. This focus ensures that our team of highly experienced personal injury lawyers and legal professionals can work as a team to maximize your chances at the settlement table or in court.

WE ARE SO CONFIDENT IN OUR ABILITY TO WIN THAT WE WILL WORK WITH YOU ON A “NO WIN, NO PAY” BASIS – MEANING NO FEES OR COSTS UNLESS WE WIN.

Some of Our Zephyrhills Personal Injury Law Practice Areas

Car Accidents: 2015 witnessed the greatest increase in road accident deaths in 50 years, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Roughly 40,000 people died – enough to fill a small football stadium. Florida ranks fourth in the country in per-capita traffic accident death risk, and 50 times as many are injured each year. We can help you pick up the pieces of your life.

Drunken Driving Accidents: Driving while intoxicated is beyond mere negligence, and if a driver injures you in this way, you are entitled to compensation. It can get tricky, however, in proving just how much compensation you may be entitled to. In some cases, you can also recover damages from a bar or nightclub that sold alcohol to the defendant.

Bicycle Accidents: A bicycle is not just a child’s toy – it is probably the most vulnerable vehicle on the road, even more so than a motorcycle. Motorists often treat bicyclists as the “second class citizens” of the road, if they even notice them at all. Unfortunately, an accident that would be classified as a “fender bender” between two cars can be catastrophic if it takes place between a car and a bicycle.

Brain Injuries: Brain injuries tend to be catastrophic by their very nature, leaving victims disabled and unable to enjoy day-to-day life activities. Furthermore, it is possible to suffer a serious brain injury due to an auto accident, for example, that does not manifest itself for weeks or even months after the accident that caused it. In such a case, you might never even connect your disability with the person responsible. We can help you trace your injury back to its true source.

Product Liability: When you are injured by a defective product – a malfunctioning airbag, for example – a refund of the purchase price is simply not enough. Fortunately, Florida product liability law provides many ways to seek compensation for such injuries. Product liability cases can be tough to win, however, especially when they involve complex technical issues.

Birth Injuries: Birth injuries occur more frequently than you might imagine. Under some circumstances, it can be difficult to trace the injury to medical malpractice. Since many of these injuries involve lifelong consequences and long-term medical treatment, however, justice dictates that healthcare providers be held financially responsible when professional negligence is involved.

Construction Accidents: Few occupations are more dangerous than construction work. Although the workers’ compensation system is designed to compensate employees who suffer occupational injuries regardless of fault, some accidents are outside the scope of the workers’ compensation program. We can guide you through the process of resolving both types of claims in a manner that leaves you fully compensated for your injuries.

Pedestrian Accidents: Pedestrian fatalities account for about 15 percent of Florida road accident injuries and fatalities, and they have been rising over the past few years. These types of accidents are particularly tragic, because they tend to be serious or even fatal, because small children are disproportionately victimized. We will fight for your right to full compensation under Florida personal injury law.

We also handle the following types of cases:

If your injury doesn’t fall within one of the aforementioned categories, rest assured that we can handle just about any type of personal injury claim.

Personal Injury FAQs

Probably. In Florida, a minor (under 18) cannot file a lawsuit any more than he or she can enter into a binding contract. Normally, a parent would be qualified to file a lawsuit on behalf of his or her minor child. If the parent is unavailable, however, the court might appoint a third party (perhaps an attorney) to file the lawsuit on behalf of the child. You may also settle a claim out of court on behalf of your child; however, you will need the court’s approval for any settlement with a gross value of $20,000 or more.

This question is impossible to answer with any precision without knowing more about the particular facts of your case. Although cases typically take a year or two to resolve, individual results vary greatly. The case is likely to take longer if a lawsuit is filed. Since it is difficult to calculate your medical expenses until you have reached “maximum medical improvement” (i.e., the point at which you aren’t going to improve any more than you already have), if your injuries are serious, resolution of your case may be delayed while you recover.

Not without the approval of your lawyer. In fact, it might be a good idea to allow your lawyer to participate in the drafting of the settlement agreement. Remember that when you file a claim with an insurance company, the insurance company is your adversary, even if it is your own insurance company, because you are asking them for money and they are trying to maximize their own profits by minimizing payouts. Never sign anything presented to you by an insurance company, and never give a recorded statement without your lawyer’s prior approval.

A letter of protection is a document guaranteeing that if you win compensation in a lawsuit judgment or private settlement, your healthcare provider will be paid out of that compensation before you even see the money. A letter of protection is designed to prevent your healthcare provider from instituting collection activity (suing you over your unpaid medical bills, for example) until you resolve your claim.
