Driver Crashes Through the Front of a Publix Liquor Store, Injuring ThreeTrusted Content

Dade City, FL (5/23/2020) – Two people were taken to the hospital after a minivan crashed into a Publix liquor store in Dade City on Saturday afternoon. The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. at a Publix Shopping Center located at 11798 US Highway 301.
According to the Dade City Police Department, an unidentified 79-year-old woman left the parking area of the shopping center, jumped a curb, and drove into the front of the liquor store. Her 2003 Dodge minivan came to a stop 28 feet inside the store.
A male employee and a female customer were struck by the minivan and taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Police say the employee suffered a cut on his arm and various upper-body injuries, while the customer had a few cuts from glass and debris. The driver of the minivan was also taken to the hospital, but the severity of her injuries was undisclosed.
Police say that none of the injuries appeared to life-threatening and are still trying to determine the cause of the crash.
