Man in Hospital With Life-Threatening Injuries After Moped Crash in Clearwater

Clearwater, FL (5/23/2020) – A crash involving a moped and a car in Clearwater sent one man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on Saturday night. The accident happened around 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Temple Street.
According to the Clearwater Police Department, an unidentified man was driving his moped on Hillcrest Avenue when he collided with a car. Emergency responders rushed the man to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg under a trauma alert. His condition is unknown at this time.
Hillcrest Avenue was shut down near Bellevue Boulevard while crews worked to clean up and investigate the crash. The Clearwater Police Department is still investigating the cause of the crash and have not released any additional information.
