17-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on US 41

Ruskin, FL (3/10/2020) – On Tuesday afternoon, a 17-year-old boy died after crashing his motorcycle into a guardrail on US 41. The accident occurred around 3:20 p.m. just south of Saffold Park Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Calvin Anthony Ertell was driving his Suzuki GSX-R600L south on US 41 when he lost control of his motorcycle. He drove off the road onto the shoulder of the highway and ran into a guardrail, which caused Ertell to be ejected from his vehicle. Despite wearing a helmet, Ertell died at the scene from his injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the accident.
