St. Petersburg, FL (10/02/2019) – David Allen Hopkins, 61, died after a motorcycle accident on Wednesday night.

Mr. Hopkins drove his Harley Wednesday night north on Park Street. He passed cars that had stopped in the median lane for a southbound ambulance and locked his rear brakes. This caused the motorcycle to flip and throw him off, police reported. He did not have a helmet on at the time of the accident.

EMTs took Mr. Hopkins to St. Petersburg General Hospital in critical condition. He was then taken to Bayfront Health, St. Peteresburg where he died.

We would like to express our deepest condolences to all those impacted by this tragic loss. Fatal motorcycle accidents are all too common and must be investigated carefully.
